Application Process Checklist

❏ Complete an Inquiry
To begin, please submit an Inquiry Form. When your inquiry is processed, you will receive a myMilken username and password which will give you access to the online application.

Complete Your Application
Your application can be completed at your convenience. You can log out and return to complete the application without losing data before submitting the final version. We recommend submitting applications as soon as possible. Early applicants will be assigned to an earlier interview date starting in September. The deadline for sibling and legacy applications is Friday, September 30, 2016. The general application deadline is Monday, December 12, 2016.

A complete application includes:
  • The completed application form, including parent and student questionnaires
  • Photo of applicant
  • Non-refundable application fee of $150
Provide Supplemental Forms and Transcripts
The Administrator and Teacher Recommendations and Authorization for Release of Records are available to print from this page. Please provide these forms to the applicant’s current school as they are also required for the application to be complete. The deadline to submit student records and test scores is Friday, January 20, 2017. 
Attend Your Interview
Upon receipt of the completed application, the Office of Admission will schedule your interview. Interviews allow you and your child to meet with a member of the admission team and Head of School. Interviews are usually 15-30 minutes each in length. Please allow 1½-2 hours for your visit to Milken. We encourage both parents/guardians to join us for this important part of the interview process. We also welcome families to attend special performances, lectures, or athletic games. For more information, please contact the Office of Admission.

Tour Milken Community Schools

Schedule the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE)
Consideration for admission is based upon a number of factors, which include the application, the interview, standardized test scores, transcripts, and recommendations. Applicants to Milken Community Schools are required to take the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE). Registration may be completed on the Education Records Bureau’s (ERB’s) website www.erblearn.org. Our school code is 054159.

For your convenience, the ISEE test will be offered at Milken on Sunday, December 11, 2016. Scores must be received by Friday, January 20, 2017.

Admission Decision Notification Dates:
  • Upper School notification letters will be sent on Friday, March 10, 2017
  • Upper School enrollment contracts are due Tuesday, March 21, 2017
  • Middle School notification letters will be sent on Friday, March 17, 2017
  • Middle School enrollment contracts are due Monday, March 27, 2017.
Admission Decision Committee
A committee comprised of school administrators and rabbis along with the admission team meets to review applications to both the middle school and upper school.  Consideration for admission is based upon a number of factors that include the application, the interview, standardized test scores, transcripts, and recommendations.
