Apply to Milken

Thank you for your interest in Milken Community Schools. As you begin the application process, please note our admissions team is here to assist you in every way that it can. Steps to Apply

  • Complete an Inquiry Form

    To begin, please submit an Inquiry Form. When your inquiry is processed, you will receive a myMilken username and password which will give you access to the online application.
  • Complete Your Application

    • Your application can be completed at your convenience. You can log out and return to complete the application without losing data before submitting the final version. We recommend submitting applications as soon as possible. Early applicants will be assigned to an earlier interview date starting in September.
    • Application Deadlines:
      • For all grades, applications for admission of sibling and legacy families are due October 28, 2019
      • For all grades, applications for admission of new families are due December 9, 2019
      A complete application includes:
      • The completed application form, including parent and student questionnaires
      • Photo of applicant
      • Non-refundable application fee of $150
  • Attend Your Interview and Tour

    Once you have submitted your completed application, you can schedule your applicant interview through the online self-scheduling system. An email confirmation of your interview will be sent from the Office of Admission to confirm that the time you selected is available. If you do not receive this email confirmation, please contact us at 310.440.3553. Applicant interviews are for both the student and parents/guardians and are an important part of the process. For middle school applicants, they are individual interviews and for upper school candidates, we conduct group interviews with four to six applicants. Interviews are usually 15-30 minutes each in length with an optional tour offered to families after the interview. Please allow approximately 1.5 hours for your visit to Milken if you plan to take the tour. 
  • Provide Supplemental Forms and Transcripts

    The Administrator and Teacher Recommendations and Authorization for Release of Records are available to print from this page. Please provide these forms to the applicant’s current school as they are also required for the application to be complete. The deadline to submit student records and test scores is Friday, January 17, 2020.
  • Schedule the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE)

    Consideration for admission is based upon a number of factors, which include the application, the interview, standardized test scores, transcripts, and recommendations. Applicants to Milken Community Schools are required to take the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE). Registration may be completed on the Education Records Bureau’s (ERB’s) website www.erblearn.orgOur school code is 054159.

    For your convenience, the ISEE test will be offered at Milken on Sunday, December 8, 2019. Scores must be received by January 17, 2020.

Admission Decision Committee

A committee comprised of school administrators and rabbis along with the admission team meets to review applications to both the Middle School and Upper School. Consideration for admission is based upon a number of factors that include the application, the interview, standardized test scores, transcripts and recommendations.
