General Endowment

Milken's General Endowment Fund is used to support the greatest needs of our school in any given year as identified by our school's leadership. Through the years, these funds are used to support campus facilities, professional development, and tuition assistance, to name but a few areas of need.

A successful Endowment ensures that the financial needs of Milken Community School will be met for years to come.

The Milken Community School General Endowment is actively managed by the school’s Finance Committee under the guidance of the Board of Directors. The endowment is managed by external investment advisors overseen by the Finance Committee and the Board of Directors. The endowment differs from the Annual Fund in that Annual Fund donations supplement the School's operating budget and are only used during the fiscal year the gift was made. Endowment funds are invested to preserve the principal for the future, which provides a perpetual source of income for the school. Investment income is used to supplement the annual operating budget.

Currently, the Milken Community School General Endowment is valued at more than $10 million thanks to generous donations from Milken families and alumni.
