Internship & Career Enhancement Program
Every dream starts with a journey; every journey with a single step. At Milken, we help students discover who they are and where they want to go. By nurturing their native talents and equipping them with the tools to explore new interests and opportunities, we empower them to develop their own identities and prepare for the path ahead. This is success at Milken: engaging young people to grow – both intellectually and emotionally – as they reach for the stars, and giving them the confidence to know that with every step, they can soar.
In 2021, we launched an Internship and Career Enhancement Program that focuses on providing participants with the necessary skills to thrive in college and in the workplace with networking prep, professional skills, internship opportunities and specialized seminars led by Milken administrators.

Grade 11
Students take classes in interview skills, résumé building, and networking along with a Career Discovery Day featuring industry leaders and experts sharing their experiences with our students. A core focus of the Internship & Career Enhancement Program will be connecting 11th and 12th grade students with meaningful internship opportunities throughout the greater Los Angeles area (and beyond). -
Grade 12
Students further their career enhancement learning with more advanced topics like workplace and organizational politics and navigating the transition to college. They also take part in Career Discovery Day to build their portfolio and connect with industry leaders for networking and career exploration. Students will have the opportunity to connect with meaningful internship opportunities throughout the greater Los Angeles area (and beyond). -
College and Beyond
For Milken alumni throughout their college years and after graduation, they will have access to a webinar series focused on career development and industry expertise to further hone their skills. College students will also be matched with alumni in a Summer Internship Program and have access to our Alumni Careers site linked here.

Milken alumni parents, Susan Bloch Kay and Stephen Kay, have generously donated the seed funding to enable us to implement this program. Susan and Stephen said, “The connections our children made with other Milken alumni directly impacted their lives and benefited their careers. Through this program, we are grateful and look forward to paying it forward to current and future students.”
Susan and Stephen are incredible leaders in the Milken School community. As parents of three Milken alumni (Aaron ‘07, Jesse ‘10, and Julian ‘15) and daughter-in-law (Lyndsay Nevins ‘07), Susan and Stephen have been pillars of the Milken community since their children first enrolled. They served as Co-Chairs of the Annual Fund, and were actively involved in the Wise Internship Program. As alumni parents, they served on Milken’s Strategic Visioning Alumni Parent Committee. Susan was also extremely involved in the MPA and served as a member of Milken’s Head of School Advisory Committee for five years. She has served on numerous committees at WISE Temple including partnership chair and mentor with the Fulfillment Fund, a college access organization for first generation students in LA.
