Milken's Performing Arts Ensembles Win Big at Heritage Festival

Over 100 students from the Performing Arts Department participated in the WorldStrides Heritage Music Festival in Anaheim.
Nine different ensembles performed for panels of judges and were rated and ranked for their performances.

We are proud to announce that all our ensembles were awarded Silver and Gold ratings and several received 1st and 2nd rankings in their categories:
  • MS Kol Echad - Silver
  • Kol Echad Men's Choir - Silver - 2nd place
  • Kol Echad Women's Choir - Silver
  • Kol Echad Chamber Choir - Silver
  • Kol Echad Concert Choir - Silver - 1st place
  • Beginning Orchestra - Gold - 2nd place
  • Intermediate Orchestra - Silver - 1st place
  • Chamber Orchestra - Gold
  • Jazz Ensemble - Gold - 1st place

The Jazz Ensemble also received a coveted "Adjudicators Award" given to the highest scoring ensemble in their division!

Additionally, "Maestro Awards" were given to outstanding soloists Phoebe Cohen ‘16 (String Bass, Chamber Orchestra), Kyle Newman ‘19 (Alto Sax, Jazz Ensemble), Joseph Paller ’16 (Piano, Jazz Ensemble), and Jenna Fink ‘16 (Soprano, Kol Echad Concert Choir).
