Milken Standardized Testing Policy

Milken Community Schools’ admission process is deeply tied to our mission, core values, and educational philosophy.  We have always considered a range of criteria that help us to determine whether the student and family is a strong fit for our school. As part of our holistic admission process, we look at recommendations, report cards, essays, and the interview to assess our applicants.

With the continued impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, Milken Community Schools announced in May 2020, the decision to suspend our standardized testing requirement for the 2020-2021 admission season. Being supportive of our applicant families and partner schools continues to remain our priority and we are here to guide and support you as you begin this important journey.

We also want to assure you that this decision to make testing results optional, in no way compromises our commitment to upholding our core value of Talmud Torah, academic excellence, in this year’s admission process.

Of course, applicants who would like to submit test scores are welcome to, and applicants who do not submit scores will not be disadvantaged in any way in our admission process.  For candidates who choose to submit ISEE scores as part of their application, score reports must be submitted from tests taken between August 1, 2020, and January 15, 2021. If you are planning on participating in testing, you can register on the Educational Records Bureau (ERB) website, www.erblearn.org, and list Milken Community Schools as a score recipient. Our school code is 054159.

Historically we have hosted a sitting for the ISEE at Milken, which we are scheduled to do again this year as long as public health conditions allow us to. The date is tentatively set for Sunday, December 6, 2020, and our school code is 054159.

Please do not hesitate to reach out us to with any questions along the way, we are looking forward to supporting you through this journey.
