Freshman Places 2nd at Regional Gymnastic Competition

Congratulations to Ali Lowe ’20 on finishing 2nd overall at the USA Gymnastics Region 1 Championships. She also finished 2nd on vault and floor, 3rd on beam, and 5th on bars. Ali, who competes on the Paramount Elite Gymnastics team, earned a 37.150 all-around score out of 40.0. She declared, “I had the best meet of my entire level 8 season.”

Inspired by the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Ali began competing in gymnastics when she was 10 years old. She credits her success to her supportive parents who consistently believe in her, and her 20 plus hours per week practice regimen doesn’t hurt either.

No stranger to competition, Ali usually competes in 5-6 meets a year, with the competition season stretching from early January to mid/late April. Ali’s road to the regional championships involved receiving qualifying all-around scores for four preliminary competitions all over the country and the state championships. Her future goal is to continue her gymnastics career in college.
