Recycled Orchestra Turns Trash into Beautiful Music

The Recycled Orchestra of Cateura visited campus recently and treated students, faculty, and staff to a spirited performance.
The orchestra is comprised of young musicians from the small town of Cateura, the home of Paraguay’s largest landfill. The young people play instruments fashioned out of recycled materials from the landfill, such as paint cans, bottle caps, and forks. The group has performed sold-out concerts all over the world.
