Milken Choirs Win Honors at Festival

Congratulations to the Milken choirs for their impressive showing at the Anaheim Heritage National Music Festival!
The Upper School Kol Echad and Kol Echad Chamber Choir, under the direction of Kelly Shepard, and the Middle School Kol Echad, under the direction of Naomi Shepard, walked away with the following awards:
  • Middle School Kol Echad - Gold Rating and an invitation to attend a Festival of Gold at Carnegie Hall. With an average score of 90.3, it was the highest rating of the Milken choirs participating.
  • Upper School Kol Echad - First Place and Silver Rating in the 2A Concert Choir Division.
  • Upper School Kol Echad Chamber Choir - Gold Rating and an invitation to attend a Festival of Gold at Carnegie Hall.
  • Ariel Bina ’15 was awarded a "Maestro Award" recognizing her outstanding solo during the Kol Echad Concert Choir performance.
Said Kelly Shepard, “The kids were amazing in many ways. Clearly, they sang well, but most importantly, they behaved very well and represented our community in such a great way!”
 
This is the first year that the Upper School Kol Echad and Chamber Choir have competed as a 2A school, allowing them to compete against larger schools across the country.
