Students Sing in the Big Apple at Carnegie Hall

Performing Arts Department Chair Kelly Shepard conducted the HaZamir (The International Jewish High School Choir) finale, Hallelu at Carnegie Hall on Sunday, March 30.
Ten Milken students performed in the choir made up of three hundred students from 24 different chapters in the United States, Canada, and Israel. Mr. Shepard conducts the Los Angeles chapter. The students performed a variety of Jewish choral music before a sold out crowd.

Emma Maier ’14 was honored with a solo in Ya Ribon. Sophie Lainer ’16 said, "My favorite part of the festival was making new friends and planning to keep in touch with them after we leave. I also loved how amazing all 300 voices sounded together."
