Fashion with Compassion A Big Success

The sixth annual Fashion with Compassion charity fashion show was held on October 27 at the Westfield Century City Mall.
Before an audience of hundreds, student-models, dressed in the latest styles (provided by local merchants), posed, strutted, and worked the runway for a great cause. The student-run event, founded by Milken Community Schools graduates Celine Yousefzedah ‘11 and Lexie Sokolow ‘11 to help charitable organizations in Israel, contributes to a different charity each year. This year’s event was the most successful yet, raising over $20,000 for the Nevatim Airbase in Israel to build a playground for children whose families are stationed on base. Daniella Farahnik ‘14, Hannah Berookhim ‘14, Natallie Mashian ’15, and Leila Aframian ’15 co-chaired the event.

Fashion with Compassion was also featured in Tribe Magazine and the Jewish Journal.

Our School, founded on Jewish values, is about who our children can become and how they can help others become who they might be. Because the world our children will create tomorrow is born in the School we build today, our mission is to educate our children so they can surpass us.
