Juniors Take Grand Prize and Third Place in Writing Competition

Congratulations to Jordan Feldman ’20 for winning first place and Shane Brunswick ’20 for receiving third place in the Fresh Ink for Teens/StandWithUs High School Writing Contest. Feldman claimed a $300 prize while Brunswick received a $100 prize. Both students’ essays are published on the New York Jewish Week’s website and Feldman’s also appears in New York Jewish Week. Feldman's and Brunswick's essays were chosen from over 70 submissions from all over the country. Their writings were based on the prompt “The Balfour Declaration publicly affirmed international support for the establishment of a Jewish state, in what we know today as Israel. What about Israel’s story and the story of resilience inspires you?” The competition celebrated the 101 year anniversary of the Balfour Declaration.
