Class of 2008 Gathers for 10-Year Reunion

Members of the Class of 2008 returned to campus to celebrate their 10-year reunion on Sunday, June 10. Seventy-five alumni gathered on the patio of the Guerin Family Institute for Advanced Sciences for the joyous occasion. Over drinks, appetizers, and dinner, they reconnected with old classmates and favorite faculty members and were especially excited to see their 12th-grade advisor, former Social Sciences Teacher Jonathan Krauss, as they caught up with other former and current faculty members.

Many of the alumni had not been back to Milken in 10 years and were impressed with campus changes. They marveled at the sleek state-of-the-art Guerin and Architecture and Design Institute buildings, which greeted them as they descended the main steps to campus. During the cocktail hour, alumni enthusiastically toured the campus, revisiting their favorite haunts, including the senior lunch area, evoking many happy memories as they snapped pictures.

The classmates loved viewing an edited version of their senior Purim Spiel so much that a group made plans to get together later to watch the full version. A 2008 yearbook on hand elicited hearty laughs as they reminisced while thumbing through the pages. New memories were created in the photo booth in the Guerin as alumni struck their favorite poses, complete with silly props.

Conversations flowed easily and laughter drifted throughout the terrace as alumni reflected on their time at Milken sharing stories and laughs. Though it had been many years since some had seen each other, everyone effortlessly reconnected as if no time had passed.

As a testament to the array of curricular options offered at Milken, the Class of 2008 represents a variety of fields and occupations including rabbinic studies, marketing, veterinary medicine, engineering, psychology, entertainment, and architecture, just to name a few.

Alumni were having such a great time that they didn’t want the memorable evening to end. Plans were made to keep in touch and stay connected — exactly what Director of Advancement Lindy Kadouri hoped would be the outcome of this special event. “We encourage alumni to stay connected to one another and to our supportive community, to appreciate the special friendships formed at Milken, and to create opportunities to build new memories together,” she reflected as the evening drew to a close.
