Ashley Yeshoua ’17 Continues to Climb the Innovation Ladder

As a recent Milken graduate, Ashley has already begun to realize how useful her drive to take risks and explore new topics can be. Ashley reflected, “Milken has provided me with amazing experiences and learning opportunities that have shaped me into the person I am today. From academics to extracurriculars, Milken has allowed me to explore and find my passions.” The confidence to take risks has proven to be a priceless takeaway.

Currently finishing up her freshman year at the University of Southern California, Ashley emphasized how attending a Jewish high school helped cultivate her foundation in practical and meaningful values. Ashley remarked on the important balance Milken strives to achieve between promoting Jewish values and exposing students to global perspectives at the same time, which helped her transition successfully into the large and diverse environment of USC.

An active member of the Milken girls’ basketball and tennis teams, a community volunteer, and a member of the Speech and Debate team, she entered college with a passion for science research. Ashley developed her idea for a Bluetooth-enabled defibrillator while in Milken’s Science Research program, and went on to present the project at innovation competitions and conferences across the nation.

As a pre-dental student, Ashley is deep into her academic career and looking forward to what next year has in store. Still, Ashley makes time to pursue her love for science research. She has put a pause on her research with the Bluetooth defibrillator, and is currently exploring a project related to her study of dentistry at USC.
