David Fischel ’04 Leads a Life-Saving Tech Company

Upon graduation from Milken in 2004, David attended and graduated from UCLA with a bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics and subsequently earned an MBA from Bar Ilan University, Tel Aviv in 2008. While pursuing his academic career, David always had an eye toward venture capital, specifically in the medical device and biotech fields. He gained valuable experience post-college holding key positions at firms such as DAFNA Capital Management, LLC and SCP Vitalife before landing a seat on the Board of Directors at Stereotaxis, Inc. in 2016.

Stereotaxis developed and is commercializing a suite of robotic technologies that allow for remote navigation of catheters used for endovascular surgery. The robotic mechanism of action allows for greater precision than the human hand, allows catheters to accomplish movements that are otherwise impossible, and significantly improves safety for patients as well as safety and convenience for physicians. In February 2017, shortly after joining the company, the Board of Stereotaxis, Inc. voted unanimously to appoint David to the position of Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board.

David’s expertise in venture capital have proved invaluable to the company as it continues to grow strategically. David noted, “100,000 patients have been treated with our technology to date, and over 100 hospitals globally use our technology on a regular basis, including Kaiser Los Angeles and UCLA Medical Center.” Read more about the remarkable achievements of Stereotaxis and doctors who use its technology at stereotaxis.com
