Milken Mini Stories: Cross Country Team Raises Funds for Cancer Research and Grade 8 Parent Social

Cross Country Team Raises Funds for Cancer Research

For the fourth year in a row, the Milken Cross Country Team participated in the annual Kickin' Cancer! 5K Run held on Sunday, October 1. Proceeds benefit the Lynne Cohen Foundation to help fight ovarian and breast cancer. The team ran well, with Noah Safer-Brickman and Sasha Hakimi, placing 4th and 6th. Milken Cross Country Coach Damon Scoville remarked, “The runners love this race because they get to run with people from the community and feel good about helping others. It's a nice 3.1 miles that everyone enjoys and we get to see each other on the route to cheer each other on.”

Grade 8 Parent Social

On Tuesday, October 3, grade 8 parents gathered together for their annual Parent Social event. The event, held at the home of the Wizman Family, is one of several parent socials held throughout the year, one for each grade level. Thanks to the time and effort of the MPA, Milken’s Parent Association, as well as Milken administrators, the event was a huge success. With a decadent spread of Moroccan food, a gorgeous backyard setting, and lots of friendly faces mixing and mingling, it was a night to remember. To find out when your grade’s Parent Social will be held, check out your latest Milken Messenger email or visit myMilken to find the information in the calendar and on the MPA tile.
