From NBC News Journalist, Daniel Arkin '07

Daniel Arkin ’07 graduated from Occidental College in 2011 with a BA in English and a minor in Film Studies. He moved to New York City in 2012 to attend graduate school and launch his career in journalism. Daniel earned an MA in journalism from Columbia University in 2013. For the past seven years, Daniel has worked as a reporter and editor at NBC News, covering everything from national politics and foreign affairs to pop culture. Daniel emphasized how Milken’s pluralistic values have shaped his adult life, including his career in journalism. Daniel also noted, “I am grateful to my English and History teachers, who instilled in me a love for the written word.”
 
Daniel and his wife, Danielle Friedman, were married in her hometown of Atlanta, GA in May 2017. Danielle is also a journalist and met Daniel at NBC News. They live on the Upper East Side of Manhattan with their son, Sam, who is almost 8 months old.
