Dance Team Wins at Sharp International

The Milken Dance team had a strong showing at the Sharp International State Championship held at Knott’s Berry Farm on March 9 and 10. They claimed first place in their divisions for both Small Group Contemporary and Medium Group Hip Hop. Competing against 15 schools, they performed two excerpts from their upcoming dance showcase, “Influence.”

The team looks forward to the competition each year, according to Coach Andrew Rincon. They prepare all season for their dance concert and enjoy performing their choreography in a different environment for adjudication as well as the additional stage time with their pieces.

Coach Andrew Rincon expressed how proud he was of his team’s performance.
“The camaraderie and bonding paired with a celebration of self-expression through dance is a gift I am so lucky to witness year after year,” said Coach Rincon. “I am so proud of these young ladies for putting in the hard work, long hours, and for bringing everything to life with such strength, grace, and authenticity.”

The dance showcase, “Influence,” will be held on Wednesday, March 27 at 4:00 and 7:00PM.  Purchase tickets here.
