    Positive Psychology for Students

    Room 2-114
Positive Psychology and similar courses are now among the most popular offered at some of the most elite academic institutions in the world including Yale, Stanford, Harvard, the University of Pennsylvania, Duke and more. Students in this course will gain an understanding of the academic field of positive psychology, which is the study of optimal human functioning. While the field of psychology has traditionally focused on fixing what is wrong by understanding the roots of human suffering, positive psychology concentrates on building what is right in people by scientifically studying strengths and values. This rapidly growing field represents the scientific study of what makes us happy, healthy, and content in our lives. Students will explore current research into the dimensions of happiness and subjective well-being, and acquire skills to implement positive-psychology-based concepts in one’s life. Note: This course is being offered as a summer enrichment program. Participants will receive a certificate of completion but will not receive MCS credit, nor will the course affect a student’s school GPA. Click here for information.
