Architecture + Design Institute Overview
The Architecture + Design Institute is comprised of multifaceted design-based learning methods to provide students with a comprehensive foundation in product and structural design. Research, analysis, drawing skills and conceptual development provide the framework for creative problem solving and critical thinking.
Mathematic, scientific and artistic processes are applied to creative solutions for real-world problems, preparing the students both academically and professionally. Collaboration, peer and instructor critiques provide multiple perspectives that enhance creativity and ideation. The students learn from professional architects and designers through presentations, panels, field trips and hands-on experiences in the community.
Design challenges are approached from a human and environmental perspective. They study the sacredness of design through exploration of heritage and culture. Each student considers ecosystems, natural resources, and the use of recycled, reusable and sustainable materials for all design solutions for products and structures.
