Experiential Learning

A Milken education is rooted in commitment to learning by doing – helping students master key skills and synthesize knowledge with hands-on opportunities both in the classroom and in the field. Our students gain deep familiarity with how academic lessons translate to the real-world, and they leave here well prepared for the next chapter of their lives.

  • Tiyulim

At Milken, experiential learning is essential, and therefore grade-level Tiyulim (trips) are a required component of our curriculum. Some learning can only happen outside the classroom--the kind of learning that is absolutely essential in developing students who think well, belong to something greater than themselves and take positive action. Students require a diverse array of challenges and experiential opportunities in order to develop fully, and we value experiential learning so highly because the growth opportunity is immense.
  • Tiferet

    A Program Unlike Any Other!
The Tiferet Israel Fellowship is unique to Milken and designed to create ambassadors for the State of Israel as well as future leaders in the American Jewish community. Tiferet offers our 10th grade Fellows the opportunity of a lifetime – to make Israel their campus for an entire semester. Tiferet Israel Fellows explore how living and learning in Israel helps them build their own identities, and in turn become leaders in the continued building of the State of Israel.

Connect With Us

At Milken Community School, we think education is more than what you know. Our School, founded on Jewish values, is about who our children can become and how they can help others become who they might be. Because the world our children will create tomorrow is born in the School we build today, our mission is to educate our children so they can surpass us.
