    Performing Arts

    Our Performing Arts Department awakens, nurtures, develops and celebrates the musical, physical and dramatic artistic expression in each student. Buoyed by the ethical and spiritual values of Judaism, Milken students create honest and meaningful work, while pushing the limits of their own physical, mental and emotional capabilities through music, dance, acting and technical theater.

    Visual Arts

    Milken’s Visual Arts Department nurtures and cultivates students’ unique qualities in order to help unleash their creative abilities. Mastering the language of visual expression and interpretation, students gain exposure to a new way of artistic thinking, learning critical communication skills in an inspiring environment under the guidance of teachers and artists. As a core component of our visual arts focus, students learn self-discipline, critical thinking and decision making, challenging their perceptions of the world as they explore their identities through the creative process. The visual arts curriculum encompasses art history, culture and Judaic imagery.

    Media Arts

    The Media Arts Program at Milken offers innovative, technology-based courses empowering students to become competent and creative users of digital media. Our fully equipped, state-of-the-art media lab and studio space acts as a hub of experiential learning where students explore the dynamic facets of digital communication. All coursework begins with building a foundation of technical skills – from camera controls, to editing software, to understanding lighting.

    Creative Writing

    Each semester, aspiring young writers from all grade levels enroll in Milken’s creative writing electives to hone their craft. Students have the opportunity to pursue their interest in poetry, prose, and screenwriting in a rigorous and supportive environment. Students are encouraged to participate in the wider literary scene at Milken by submitting their writing for publication, editing the school's literary magazine, and sharing their work at one of the program's many public readings.
