A Milken transcript is the official record of a student’s academic history at the School. Any course of study that fulfills specific Milken requirements for graduation belongs on the Milken transcript. Also, because so many of students apply to the University of California for college, it is important that the courses represented on the transcript parallel with the UC requirements for application. All other information does not belong on this official document. For example, if a student was to take a geometry course at UCLA in order to enhance his/her math program at Milken, then that course would appear on the transcript. But, if the student took a course in sociology for fun over the summer, then the coursework would not appear on the transcript.
Several semester programs in Israel do meet Milken's requirements, although several do not. The Ramah summer program in Israel does not receive credit or appear on the transcript because it does not help fulfill any Milken or UC requirement for graduation.
Visual and Performing arts (VPA) courses that the UC system would accept to fulfill the UC requirement for Visual and Performing arts and that Milken would accept to fulfill the Milkenl VPA requirement, taken outside the School, would appear on the transcript. Other arts classes taken over the summer or during the year for personal enjoyment and interest, which do not fulfill the above criteria, would not appear on the transcript. Courses taken for remediation purposes would also appear on the official transcript to assure eventual graduation from Milken.
