The Evening Music Lecture Series began as an addition to Russell Steinberg’s popular UCLA Extension courses about music listening. The purpose of these lectures is to create a community of passionate music listeners that combines the students from UCLA Extension with the parents, students, faculty, and staff of the Stephen S. Wise Temple and Schools.

Past series have included:

  • Schubert the Songmaster
  • Debussy and Ravel
  • Classical Vienna: Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven
  • The Genius of Mozart
  • Classical vs Rock
  • Beethoven’s Nine Symphonies
