Senior Selected for Esteemed Composer Program

Congratulations to Noah Daniel '17!
Noah was recently accepted into the prestigious LA Phil Associate Composer Program. Designed to help young composers find their compositional voices, the year-long program offers support and guidance to young composers.

Noah, who is a member of Milken’s Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Lab, focuses mainly on guitar, but also plays drums and piano. Music is Noah's passion, and, through the program, he hopes to discover who he is as a composer.

Remarks Noah, "My one musical aspiration is simply to continue to grow as a musician throughout my life…. Music, for me, is about putting a piece of myself that I love into the world. What is important to me is that I consistently create music that is innovative, interesting, and — above all — the best music that I can create."

Noah recently had a composition he wrote based on Holocaust survivors' narratives in the Righteous Conversations Summer Workshop at Milken, performed by the Argus Quartet in a concert at the Capitol Rotunda in Washington, DC. The May concert was part of the Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust (LA MOTH) exhibit, Survivors and What They Carry.
