The Guerin Family Institute for Advanced Sciences

Milken was excited to celebrate the dedication of the Guerin Family Institute for Advanced Sciences on September 18!
The special dedication ceremony featured demonstrations, guest speakers, and tours of the new buildings.

Consul General of Israel, Sam Grundwerg, UCLA Chancellor, Gene Block, and Vera Guerin were among the guest speakers.

The Guerin Institute houses the area’s only MIT-inspired Fab Lab, joining a global network of Fab Labs spanning the world; a CAD Lab; an Engineering Lab; and an International Classroom to connect students globally. Students have access to state-of-the-art equipment and complex professional grade industrial tools to help fabricate their ideas into reality.

Glass walls and open spaces invite collaboration and innovation at the highest level. Equipped with 3D printers, laser cutters, a milling machine, and programming tools, the Guerin Institute is a welcome hub on campus encouraging hands-on student exploration, imagination, and invention.
