Moot Beit Din Team Argues Way to 2nd Place Finish at Competition

Mazal tov to our Moot Beit Din team!
The Milken team took a second place win in the Kagan Division at the 2016 RAVSAK Moot Beit Din Competition.

The competition challenges students to apply halakhah (Jewish law) to contemporary issues to create a compelling case. Students prepare written decisions and present and defend oral reports before a panel of judges. This year’s case was based on Jewish medical ethics and end of life care. According to team advisor, Rabbi Neal Scheindlin, the judges particularly praised the team’s written work this year.

Over 100 students from 28 schools from all over the country and Canada participated in this year’s competition held in West Palm Beach, Florida. Seniors Yonah Bernat-Kunin, Rivka Grob, Eliana Melmed, and Noa Rubin comprised the four-member team, all of whom have participated in Moot Beit Din for three years.
