Junior Awarded Grand Prize In National Student Writing Contest

Congratulations to Maetal Gerson ’17 for winning the Norman E. Alexander Award for Excellence in Jewish Student Writing.
Sponsored by Fresh Ink for Teens, the Jewish-American Hall of Fame, and The Jewish Week Media Group, the award comes with a $500 cash prize and an inscribed Alexander Award medal. This is the second year in a row that a Milken student has won the award.

Congratulations also go to seniors Sammy Stolzenbach, Noa Rubin, Naomi Gluck, and Eliana Melmed, who were selected as finalists. Their essays will be published online in the coming months on the Fresh Ink for Teens website.

Maetel will be presented with the medal by the director of the Jewish American Heritage Association at the junior class meeting on October 15.
