Students Compete in International Safe Cracking Tournament

Four Milken students recently returned from Israel after participating in the Weizmann Institute’s International Shalhevet Freyer Physics Tournament.
The team, made up of freshmen Daniella Bick, Jordan Farahnik, and Logan Shalit, as well as senior Daniel Black, competed against teams, mostly of juniors and seniors, from all over the world.

Preparation for the tournament began months ago as teams were challenged with designing and building an impenetrable safe with a locking mechanism based on physics principles. The exciting two-day competition pitted teams against each other to crack open their opponents’ safes.
