Congratulations to Roger Kassebaum, Director of the Mitchell Academy of Science and Technology, who was honored at the Ames Summit as the first recipient of the newly established “Think Outside the Globe” Conrad Foundation Teacher of the Year. Kassebaum is the only teacher to have teams reach the finalist stage of the competition in each of the six years of the competition. The award comes with a $500 cash prize, and a traveling four-foot bronze trophy in the shape of a rocket. A creation of Eric Lindberg, the grandson of the famous Charles Lindberg,the rocket sculpture will be housed on the Milken campus for a year and then travel to the school of the next teacher awardee.
Please join Mr. Kassebaum and the MAST students on Sunday, May 6th from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. in the Beit Midrash of the Upper School for the annual Science Symposium. The entire community is invited to
attend and celebrate the student success stories and support them in
their impressive efforts. Participants will include Julia and Lorenzo Cohen, Conrad Award Finalists and winners of the People's Choice Award this year, the award-winning robotics team, science research students, the winning popsicle stick bridge building team, science bowl team.
