Milken's Student Government recently voted to ratify the new
Student Government constitution. President of the senior class, Ami Fields-Meyer, outlines below the fundamental improvements inherent in the new constitution, which was drafted by the Student Government Executive Board and ratified unanimously by the entire Student Government and representatives of each class council.
"The document makes several necessary and long-anticipated changes to the structure of leadership on campus. It reshapes the Executive Board, now comprising it of a President, Executive Vice President, Vice President of Finance, Vice President of Communications, Vice President of Management, and Vice President of Jewish Affairs.
The new constitution also implements a clause that regulates the size and scope of Class Councils and creates greater compatibility and cooperation between Class Councils and the Student Government. It also creates a more effective appointment structure and calls for the implementation of a new committee structure within the Student Government."
