The Orchestra, made up of students from the various Stephen S. Wise Schools, and schools citywide, creates a positive, informed sense of Jewish identity and heritage. The religiously diverse group rehearses and plays classical repertoire, Jewish music, and specially commissioned works alongside professional musicians. After only a few years, the Los Angeles Youth Orchestra has already become a musical voice that embraces the entire Los Angeles community.  

What Makes this Program unique is:

• Quality Music Education for learning, interpreting, and performing in a supportive atmosphere
• Mentoring and Coaching with outstanding professional musicians at each rehearsal
• Attending Working Rehearsals of prominent Los Angeles orchestras
• Special Tours and Events within the community and plans for touring abroad
• Several Performances each year that include school venues and professional concert halls
• A Professional CD is produced each year of the orchestra’s performances listing the young musicians names and their schools
