Middle School Relocation Project

Stephen S. Wise Temple has launched a capital campaign to combine its existing Middle and Upper School campuses. The two Schools will be combined into a single, combined location next to the current Milken site on Mulholland Drive. This will allow the Middle School to move from its current temporary facilities into a permanent, architecturally-appropriate, state-of-the art facility, with the technology and educational programs imperative for Milken to maintain a competitive academic standing.

The new campus will include new computer workrooms, an art center, technology and media facilities, religious studies and meeting areas, a student lounge, and faculty facilities. The Middle School will be fully “wired” offering a full range of the telecommunication services, including plasma wall screens, wireless Internet access, and digital and video capabilities. Also planned is an internal courtyard featuring two half-basketball courts, a stone climbing wall, and informal natural seating areas.

Stephen S. Wise Temple is ever mindful of the community and environment in which it exists. Therefore the consolidation plan features many ways to enhance the neighborhood, as well as improve the overall academic, physical education, and aesthetic experiences for Milken students. The new campus will mirror the topography and curvature of the natural surroundings. The entire campus will feature extensive landscaping, including specimen-sized trees to enhance and preserve the Mulholland Scenic Corridor. As well, the athletic field will reflect a park-like environment focusing on green space and unobstructed views. The new construction will also provide significant drop-off and pick-up improvements reducing the traffic impact on the surrounding community.
