Student Life in Israel
  • The safety of our Fellows is of utmost priority. The grounds of AMHSI are fenced and guarded, and all precautions are taken whenever the students are taken on a field trip, including the use of private buses accompanied by a guard/paramedic, as needed. AMHSI is in constant communication with Israeli security authorities so that they have the most current security information and will adjust the day's itinerary, if necessary.

  • The primary supervision is provided by madrichim (counselors) who live in the dorms with our Fellows. Additionally, teachers and administrators supervise daily life, and some live on campus, as well.

  • Primary medical care is available on campus 24/7 by a nurse. AMSHI also employs a doctor who comes to campus most days to attend to students. AMHSI has over forty years of experience accommodating the needs of students who have medical or physical challenges. Please contact Ms. Ruth Ickowitz, Administrator of Tiferet Israel Fellowship, to discuss your child's needs.
  • Do Fellows live in dorms or have classes with students from other schools?
No. Fellows have their own dorm(s) and classes. All classes are a continuation of Milken's curriculum.

  • Can they use public transportation while in Israel?
No. Fellows may not use public buses or trains.

  • My child is involved in dance/music/sports. Can this be continued in Israel?
Yes, referrals can be made for dance, music lessons, sports coaches, etc. If your child needs a referral, please contact Ms. Ruth Ickowitz, Administrator of Tiferet Israel Fellowship.
