Patti Lemlein Director of Admission plemlein@milkenschool.orgPatti Lemlein brings over twenty years of admissions and marketing experience to her position at Milken. She started her career in the fashion industry, working for ten years with Nordstrom in the Corporate Public Relations/Marketing departments and was the Fashion Director for Southern California. Patti attended Western Washington State University and the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. She earned an Associate of Arts degree in Merchandising & Marketing. In 1998, she made a career transition to independent school administration. She has held several positions with many outstanding independent schools in California and Colorado and has developed four areas of proven expertise as a School Administrator: Admissions, Marketing, Communications and Development.
From 2000-2006 she held the position of Admissions Director at Sinai Akiba Academy in Los Angeles. Prior to joining Milken, Patti was the Director of Admissions and Marketing at Boulder Country Day School in Boulder, Colorado where she and her family lived for six years.
Patti and her husband Neal have two grown children, Alexandra and Ryan, who both attended Stephen S. Wise Temple Nursery/Pre-K Schools. During their school years, Patti served as the Parent Association President and she and Neal were Temple members for many years.
Patti is delighted to be back in Los Angeles and to be closer to family and friends. She is especially excited to be part of the Milken team and its vibrant Jewish community.

As an alumnus from the
Milken Community High School, Class of 2000, Amy is pleased to continue
her involvement with the Milken community serving as the Associate
Director of Admission. Amy earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in
English Literature from the University of Michigan and her Master’s of
Arts in the Humanities from the University of Chicago, where she
concentrated on contemporary Holocaust texts.
Before returning to Milken,
Amy spent several years as an advisor and humanities teacher at Wildwood
Secondary School. At Milken, she has been delighted to put her
energies and skills to work in a Jewish environment which has influenced
her in so many positive ways. She has especially enjoyed working with
the Milken student ambassadors and sharing the warmth of the Milken
community with prospective families.
Amy grew up in the Los
Angeles area and attended Abraham Joshua Heschel Day School. She met
her husband of three years when they were campers at Camp Ramah.
Paola Gancman Associate Director of Admission pgancman@milkenschool.org
Paola Gancman earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Judaism and her Masters in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University in Marriage and Family Therapy. Paola also earned an associate degree in early childhood education and school administration from the Los Angeles Mission College.
Prior to joining the admission staff, Paola spent several years as a teacher and preschool director at Page Private School in Beverly Hills. She also practiced clinical psychology at the Women’s Clinic in Century City.
Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Paola lived there until the age of 15 when she moved to Los Angeles with her family. Paola and her husband, Alvaro, have two children, Julian and Sabrina, who both attend Stephen S. Wise Elementary School. Paola served as President of the Parent Association at Stephen S. Wise Elementary School from 2009-2012 where she and her family continue to be active members.
Paola is delighted to be part of the Milken Community High School admission team and community.

Janine has recently joined the Milken admission team after spending many years actively involved as a parent/volunteer at Stephen S. Wise Temple and Milken Community High School. At Milken Community High School, Janine worked closely with the Admissions Office developing the Parent Docent program and also serving on the Parent Liaison Council as well as many other committees. Janine’s passion for Jewish education and her commitment to the Jewish community is evident in her extensive volunteer work. Currently, Janine serves on the Executive Board of Stephen S. Wise Temple, the Executive Board of The BJE (Builders of Jewish Education), and the Executive Board of the Jewish Federation Women’s Valley Alliance.
Before beginning her career in advertising and marketing with Grey Advertising and Ogilvy & Mather in South Africa, Janine attended the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. After immigrating to Los Angeles in 1986, she joined Dallas-based ad agency Tracy Locke, where she worked on national consumer brand accounts.
Janine and her husband Rick are the proud parents of two Milken graduates, Michelle and David. She is thrilled to be back in the Milken community working as a member of the admission team.

Cheryl Banton brings over 15 years of international business experience to Milken, having graduated with a Bachelor of Economics Degree from Stellenbosch University in South Africa and having lived and worked in Hong Kong for 6 years. Cheryl's son Max attends Stephen S. Wise Temple Elementary School, where she was active on the Parent Association for 6 years while also serving in the capacity of Vice President of School Services for two years. Currently, she is a volunteer/docent at the Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust.
Cheryl enjoys working with people and is excited to be part of the admission team at Milken.
Nancy Joseph Admission Database Coordinator njoseph@milkenschool.org
Nancy Joseph was born and raised in India where she received a Bachelor of Commerce degree. For three years she was a Sales Executive for an electronic firm in India. In 1987, Nancy moved to Dubai, in the Middle East, where she worked for eight years as an Administrative Assistant in the Accounts Department at the Inter-Continental Hotel.
After moving to California, Nancy joined Stephen S. Wise Temple Elementary School in September 1995, as the personal secretary to the Principal. She became the Office Manager in 1996. As the Elementary School Office Manager for 18 years, Nancy oversaw the work of the front office personnel and worked closely with parents and staff. She enjoyed the challenges of working in the Elementary School and now new challenges are ahead for Nancy as she joins Milken and she is thrilled to be part of the admission team.
